FONE LOGISTICS RINGS IN WITH NATIONAL AWARD
Cramlington based mobile airtime distributor Fone Logistics has been nationally recognised at the national Mobile News Awards for a year of growth despite the recession.
Founded in 1996, Fone Logistics was commended by Mobile News for its performance in 2009, ringing in a turnover increase of almost 10 percent, and a 26% growth in network connections.
The company, which restructured in November 2009 with local businessman and founder Ian Gillespie reassuming full control of the business, following a deal to acquire share capital from external funders.
Fone Logistics distributes airtime for the UK’s leading networks including, O2, 3, Orange and Vodafone to its channel partners and has seen continuous increasing of its distribution marketplace share in 2009.
Fone Logistics marketing director Julien Parven said: “We are all extremely proud of our achievements in the past year and being commended at the Mobile News Awards cements our position as the leading multi network distributor in the North, and one of the top 2 in the UK.
“We have worked hard, not only at the service we deliver to our dealer partners and the networks via our sales and marketing support, IT infrastructure and dealer reward schemes - but also at internal communication. Staff engagement remains high on our agenda, and we are proud to say that more than 40 percent of our workforce has clocked up a minimum of five years’ service.”
Fone Logistics managing director Ian Gillespie said: “I’d like to say thank you to our 60 colleagues working within the business and dealer partners for their continued hard work and here’s to another successful year in 2010.”
The Judges commented: “Special recognition must go to Fone Logistics who have fought back in 2009 and provide a greater choice for connections.”
The Awards attended by more than 850 mobile industry guests and hosted by the UK's hottest comedy star Michael McIntyre, were presented at a lavish black tie dinner dance at The London Hilton on Park Lane last week (March 18).
